I first went to Fiverr thinking that would be the right place, but I also wanted to hire a professional character artist. I found the perfect one in Justin who worked on the new Mutant Teenage Ninja Turtles Movie, Mutant Mayhem. Which is awesome because that movie has awesome character designs. I gave them all the same brief, so I could compare them. I also explored if AI could be a possibility for this, because that would be way cheaper. I’m making a top down roguelike shooter where you just want to freaking down your boss. However he prepared and had Killer robots waiting for you. So what are you gonna do? The task is to create designs for the killer robot, a boss robot and a coffee robot. I just love coffee. This development log explores the first steps of character creation, and we will proceed with these designs in later videos. I will 3d model, rig, texture and animate them and then implementing them into Unity in another devlog. So stay tuned. 3D modelling, rigging, texturing and animating is a dauting task, so it will be a fun one. #devlog #gamedev #gamedevelopment
